Exodus To Jazz proudly presents a Weekend of Jazz featuring The Sylvia Cuenca Quartet on Friday, Oct. 31 st at The Clarion Riverside Hotel. Vibraphonist Joe Locke, Rochester’s native son, is the quartet’s featured artist. The weekend’s two shows mark the third year of the ETJ series with an exciting line-up of artists.

Leader-drummer Sylvia Cuenca (sylviacuenca.com) is expanding her leadership resume while maintaining her position in legendary Clark Terry’s quintet and maintaining an active accompaniment schedule. Sylvia’s October engagements have become an annual ETJ tradition.
Vibraphonist Joe Locke’s (joelocke.com) joyfully innovative performances affirm his preeminent position in the international jazz scene; he is sure to stretch “further out” for his hometown fans.
Guitarist David Gilmore (davidgilmore.net) returns to perform again with Sylvia; drawing on diverse musical influences he pushes the boundaries of improvisation yet remains accessible to listeners.
Bassist Essiet Essiet (Google - Essiet Essiet) returns to the ETJ stage to provide the group a firm rhythmic center with impressive melodic solos sure to be peppered with percussive slaps.
